Privacy policy
This policy covers the personal information Liveleg LLC handles: about our customers and their staff (as a business), and about the people our customers call and text (on our customers' behalf).
1. Two roles
- For our customers' calls and messages we act as a service provider (processor). Our customer decides who is called and why. We process call data only to provide the service to that customer. The customer's own privacy notice covers the people it calls.
- For our own accounts, billing, website and sales we act as the business (controller).
2. What we collect
About customers and their staff: names, work email and phone, business details, tax ID, owner details, ID documents when we verify identity, payment details, console and API activity, and support messages. About people our customers call or text: phone numbers, names and other lead details our customer sends; call records (numbers, times, durations, outcomes, caller ID used); recordings and transcripts when the customer turns them on; message content; opt-out and do-not-call requests; consent records the customer stores with us; and the answering machine and spam-label results for each call.
3. Customer network information
Call records and details about how a customer uses our service are "customer proprietary network information" under federal law (47 U.S.C. 222). We use it only to provide and bill the service, to protect our network and customers from fraud and illegal calls, and as the law requires. We give it only to the account holder after verifying them, or as the law requires. We do not use it for marketing other services without permission. We report breaches of it as the FCC requires. CPNI rules apply to interconnected VoIP providers (47 CFR 64.2003(o)). For business accounts with a named account engineer and a contract that covers CPNI, we may use the contract's own login and verification steps (47 CFR 64.2010(g)).
4. How we use information
To place, route, sign and bill calls and messages; to run answering machine detection, number lookup, recording, transcription and the compliance checks; to verify businesses and prevent illegal calls; to answer traceback, regulator and law enforcement requests; to secure the service; and to support customers. We do not sell personal information. We do not use recordings, transcripts or messages to train models for anyone else, and we do not use one customer's data for another customer.
5. Who we share it with
With the customer that owns the data. With carriers and networks that carry the call or message, and with the call analytics, caller name and messaging registries needed to deliver it. With service providers that host or process data for us under contract. With the industry traceback group, regulators, courts and law enforcement when the law requires or allows it. With a buyer of our business, under this policy.
6. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Recordings and transcripts | 1 year by default. The customer can set 30 days to 10 years. Deleted recordings and transcripts are removed from our systems, except where the law requires us to keep a copy. |
| Message content | 1 year by default; customer setting. |
| Call and message records | 5 years. Telemarketing law requires sellers to keep call records 5 years (16 CFR 310.5), and we keep them so customers and traceback requests can rely on them. |
| Do-not-call and opt-out requests | At least 5 years, 10 years for Arizona and Virginia numbers. |
| Consent records stored by customers | As long as the customer's account is open, then 5 years. |
| Business verification records | 5 years after the account closes. |
| Billing records | As tax law requires. |
7. Security
Encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to staff who need it, access logs, and keys scoped to one account or subaccount.
8. Your choices and rights
People our customers called: to stop calls or texts, reply STOP or ask the caller. You can also write to privacy@liveleg.dev with your number. We add it to that customer's do-not-call list and tell the customer. Requests to see or delete data held for a customer are sent to that customer, and we help them answer. Residents of states with privacy laws can ask to see, correct or delete their information, and appeal a denial. We answer within the time the law sets.
